Description
Branteth Farm is a probably early 19th-century farmhouse with a courtyard steading. The farmhouse is a two-storey, three-bay building with a piend-roofed design. Its unusual feature is the arrangement of two stacks set transversely below the roof ridge. It is built of rubble with ashlar dressings and has been whitewashed to face the courtyard. The south elevation features a central modern door with a rectangular fanlight, and sash windows with a four-pane glazing pattern. The roof is covered in graded slates. A low west wing extends from the main farmhouse.
The steading, also built of rubble and mainly whitewashed with slate roofs, links to the farmhouse. The east and west steading ranges have a loft below the eaves. The west range incorporates a segmental-arched cartshed, while other openings are square-headed. The farmhouse occupies the south end of the courtyard steading.
