Description

The bandstand in Colliston Park, Dalbeattie, dates from around 1900 and is an octagonal pavilion made of cast iron, manufactured at the Lion foundry. It features slender cast-iron composite columns that support a depressed-arch latticework screen. The bandstand has an overhanging octagonal roof with a central facetted hemispherical dome, and spike finials at the ridges and the apex of the dome. It stands on an octagonal concrete base.
