Description
This late 18th century, two-storey, three-bay terraced house at 8-10 High Street in Gatehouse of Fleet is constructed from painted rubble. The ground floor features a modern plate glass shopfront, flanked by enlarged plate glass windows beside the shop door. The building has rusticated quoins, a moulded base course, and polished raised margins.
On the first floor, there are sash and case windows with a 12-pane glazing pattern, and a continuous cill band runs along this level. The roof is covered with slate, featuring flat skews and skewputts. Additionally, there are tall corniced stacks with sandstone angles and two large skylights.
