Description
Eskdalemuir Churchyard is a quadrangular burial ground, detached from the church itself. It is enclosed by a rubble-built boundary wall. A gate is located in the west wall, flanked by two corniced square gatepiers. The churchyard contains a variety of headstones, primarily from the 19th and 20th centuries, with some dating to the 18th century. A particularly notable feature is a tall monument to William Brown, who died in 1835, consisting of a square base with urns and a tall obelisk. A fragment of a gable from a relatively early building has been incorporated into the enclosure wall at the northwest corner.
