Description
The White Esk Bridge is a roadbridge dating from 1877, built by J Carruthers and Sons. It carries a roadway across the White Esk via two segmental arches. The bridge is mainly constructed of rubble, with red ashlar used for the voussoirs, band courses, parapet coping, bull-nosed pointed cutwaters, and terminal piers. It features shallow, battered abutments. The roadway and straight parapets slope downwards towards the western bank. A datestone inscribed "1803" with a cusped design has been incorporated above the southern cutwater. The statutory address is White Esk Bridge.
