Description

This is a pair of fruit stores, built in 1745, located within the walled garden at Arbigland House. The stores are part of an irregularly octagonal walled garden. They are identical and circular in plan, with an oculus above the door. They have conical slate roofs, which formerly featured acorn finials. The stores are constructed of rubble walls with ashlar coping. Captain J B Blackett’s pamphlet, “Arbigland,” provides further information and a copy is held in the Ewart Library.
