Description
A walled garden dating from 1745, situated at Arbigland House. The garden occupies an irregular octagonal enclosure defined by high, rubble-built walls finished with ashlar coping. A range of glasshouses is located at the north end, while the south gate is flanked by two identical, circular fruit stores. These stores feature an oculus above the door and are topped with conical slate roofs, originally ornamented with acorn finials. Captain J B Blackett's pamphlet, "Arbigland," provides further details (a copy of which is held in the Ewart Library).
