2-4 Battery Street, Annan

2-4 Battery Street in Annan is a two-storey corner building dating from around 1840, featuring classical architectural details. The structure is built from red ashlar and has architraved openings. It has four windowed bays facing High Street, with the outer bays containing bipartite windows on the ground floor. A curved windowed bay wraps around the corner, while there are three bays on Battery Street. The central bay has a shallow entrance that is slightly advanced and gabled above the eaves, topped with three prominent octagonal flues that correspond to similar flues on the opposite side. The entrance is adorned with a consoled door pediment. The building features sash windows with 12 and 8 panes throughout. A deep cornice runs above each floor, and there is a single later small-paned gabled dormer. The roof is piended and slate-covered, curving over the corner.
