Paton's Mill, Lower Mill Street, Tillicoultry

Paton's Mill is a long, three-storey and loft building located on Lower Mill Street in Tillicoultry. Construction began in 1836, and the mill is a 34-bay rubble-built block that was converted to residential use in the late 1980s. The building is divided into three sections: the eastern section, which has six bays and is likely the oldest part, features margins on the north elevation, while the western section, with fourteen bays, is probably the most recent addition. The mill has square-headed door and window openings, some of which have been altered, and most of the glazing is now modern louvred. There is a single gabled loft opening on the north elevation and two windows on each level of the west gable. The roof features two tiers of skylights, straight skews, end stacks, and is covered with slate.
