Description

Early 19th century. 3-storey & loft, 9-bay textile mill with

3-bay south gable; narrower, piended, 2-storey, 2-bay house

against north gable. Set on slope. All rubble-built with

ashlar margins. Mill has main door with altered west jamb

central on south gable, ball-finialed at apex, clock over

single loft window; door at north end of east wall; small

(mostly 12)-pane windows. Modern fire escape and

brick-covered lade on west wall; wheel removed. Single

off-centre, gabled and slate-hung loft opening over either

wallhead. Straight skews; skylights; north apex stack. House

has blocked basement openings and painted margins; north wall

built of squared whin rubble, with modern porch and 2

wallhead stacks (1 original, other of brick). All roofs

slated.
