Gean House, Tullibody Road, Alloa

Gean House, located on Tullibody Road in Alloa, is a large mansion dating from the late 16th to early 17th century, designed by William Kerr of John Melvin & Son. This English traditional building features two storeys and an attic, with an asymmetrical layout. The northeast entrance court is highlighted by a central wide gable and a large chimney. A Roman Doric columned porch with strapwork above adds to its grandeur. The southeast wing rises to the same height as the main block. The property is marked by urn-capped gatepiers and balustrades, constructed from snecked rubble with a red tiled roof. The windows are mullioned, with transoms in the principal rooms on the ground floor, showcasing fine detailing throughout the structure.
