Description
The Library and Museum Hall in Alloa is a single-storey building designed in 1873 by Adam Frame, following the Greek style of Alexander Thomson. It features a four-window layout with a central section that is advanced and includes a block pedimented doorpiece. The façade is adorned with four Egyptian-inspired columns at a blind attic and has a pediment with arceteria above. The south elevation is mostly blind, except for the central pedimented section that contains a doorway. The building is constructed of red sandstone coursers with white dressings and has a fireclay balustrade. The interior was reconstructed in 1971-72.
