Description

John Young, soon after 1779; later 3rd storey. Symmetrical 3-storey 5-bay classical former house on corner site. Broadly droved cream sandstone ashlar with polished dressings (2nd floor polished). Long and short rusticated quoins; base course; panelled band course above ground, cornice above 1st floor. To centre bay, arched doorpiece decorative radiating timber fanlight. Single storey single bay set back to left with basement area.

Coursed rubble gable. Full original rubble 3-storey 3-bay rear elevation with adjoining low 2-storey mews block converted to garages.

Timber sash and case plate glass windows. Ashlar coped skews; rebuilt rendered stacks.

INTERIOR: not seen 1995. Fluted pilastered sideboard recess to former Dining Room (SE room at ground).
