Description

John Young, soon after 1779. 2-storey, half-sunk basement and attic, 3-bay classical former house. Droved cream sandstone ashlar with polished dressings. Eaves cornice. Steps to deeply set door and 4-pane fanlight at centre. Left bay with tripartite windows. Later full-width corniced slate-hung dormer.

Irregular 3-storey 3-bay rubble rear elevation with adjoining 2-storey rendered range with garages at ground and top-lit studio at 1st floor (No 22 Young Street Lane North).

Timber sash and case 12-pane windows. Ashlar coped skews; rendered stacks; grey slates.

INTERIOR: not seen 1995.
