Description

Built 1801 by Richard Crichton, adapted from plan by John Fraser, 1795. Single storey, 3-bay plain classical cottage with piended roof and later single storey extension to NW. Coursed rubble with droved ashlar dressings. Base course, eaves course. Tabbed window margins; long and short quoins. Rear elevation is built into NE wall of walled garden.

NE (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: modern door, deeply recessed in slightly advanced plain architrave with cornice and blocking course. Windows flanking to each side.

Predominantly 12-pane glazing in timber sash and case windows. Small 4-pane timber window to garden. Graded grey slates with lead flashings. Tall coped ashlar stacks with yellow clay cans.
