Description
Gardener's House at Dunglass House is a two-storey L-plan house, possibly designed by Richard Crichton in the early 19th century. The building is constructed of coursed sandstone and features single-storey additions.
The entrance elevation has three bays, with a square porch at the center that includes a cornice and blocking course. There is a front window and a pilastered doorpiece on the right side, leading to a panelled door. Windows are present in the flanking bays and above in each bay on the first floor.
The rear elevation shows a blank gable on the advanced wing to the left, along with lean-to outbuildings. The side elevations each have two widely grouped bays with windows on both floors. There is a single-storey arm extending to the left of the main front, which has a piend roof and features a door flanked by windows.
The sash and case windows predominantly have a 12-pane glazing pattern. The building includes wallhead and gable end ashlar stacks, and the roof is covered with grey slates.
Additionally, there are rubble retaining walls that enclose the garden at the main front, along with two square, pyramid-capped ashlar gatepiers located at the rear service court.
