37-45 Lothian Road, Edinburgh

This mid-19th century building at 37-45 Lothian Road in Edinburgh is a three-storey and attic, nine-bay plain classical terraced block featuring shops on the ground floor. It is constructed of cream ashlar. The ground floor has modern shop fronts, while the central entrance to the flats includes a timber panelled door with a plate glass fanlight, set within a corniced and consoled surround. The upper floors are regularly fenestrated with windows that have architraved surrounds. A moulded eaves cornice runs along the top, and there are piend-roofed slated dormers. The windows are timber sash and case with plate glass, and the roof is covered with grey slates. The building also features corniced ashlar stacks with circular cans.
