This building, located at 47, 49, 51, 53, and 55 Lothian Road in Edinburgh, dates from the mid-19th century and is a three-storey and attic, nine-bay plain classical terraced block with shops on the ground floor. It is constructed of cream ashlar stone. Above the shops, there is a continuous cornice and blocking course. The shops on the right feature 19th-century details, while the central flats have a timber panelled door with a plate glass fanlight, set in a corniced and consoled surround. The upper floors are regularly fenestrated with windows that have architraved surrounds. There is a moulded eaves cornice, and the attic features slated dormers.

The windows are timber sash and case with plate glass. The roof is covered with grey slates, and there are corniced ashlar stacks with circular cans.
