Description

10 and 11 Castle Terrace in Edinburgh is a three-storey and basement, twelve-bay plain classical terrace designed by David Bryce (Junior) in 1859. The building is constructed from grey ashlar stone, which is droved at the basement level. It features a dividing band between the basement and ground floors as well as between the ground and first floors, along with a moulded eaves course. The doors and windows have moulded surrounds, and the ground and first floor windows are adorned with panelled aprons.

There are stone steps and platts that arch over the basement area, with timber panelled doors and plate glass fanlights located in the third, fourth, seventh, eighth, and tenth bays from the right. The windows are timber sash and case with plate glass. The roof is covered with grey slates, and there are corniced ashlar stacks with circular cans.

The boundary wall features cast-iron railings topped with fleur de lys finials, set on a low ashlar wall.
