Description

Circa 1875. 2-storey, 2-bay rectangular-plan villa, subdivided 1949. Squared and snecked rubble; finely stugged and coursed ahslar with polished dressings at E (entrance) elevation. Base and eaves courses; quoin strips; bracketed cornice; windows with raised surrounds and chamfered arrises, segmental-arched at 1st floor.

E (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: recessed stone porch to outer left S with deep-set panelled door to E; depressed-arched plate glass fanlight; pilastered doorpiece with carved capitals and consoles over triglyphs supporting cornice above.

Corniced tripartite window with single window above to left; full-height canted bay with dividing cornice to right.

N ELEVATION: blank; 2-storey near-contemporary extension adjoining behind slate-roofed garage.

S ELEVATION: window at 1st floor; later forestair to 1st floor entrance (formerly stair window).

Plate glass sash and case windows. Grey slate piended roof; lead flashing; moulded eaves guttering; 4 shouldered and corniced stacks; octagonalcans.

INTERIOR: not seen 1990.

GREENHOUSE: small wood-framed, with some etched glass panels above boarded base and wooden finials.
