Description
17 Thistle Street in Edinburgh is a classical office building, originally constructed around 1780, with later additions including a rebuild in 1977. It is a four-storey, three-bay structure made of droved cream sandstone ashlar with polished dressings. The entrance features a Roman Doric pilastered doorcase on the left, which includes a three-pane fanlight and a glazed inner door with a radiating fanlight. The third storey was added later. At the rear, there is a glass curtain wall with a dry-dashed strip.
The front of the building has timber sash and case windows with 12 panes. The interior has been significantly altered to accommodate modern office use.
