Description

1792-4. 3-storey basement and attic, 3-bay former classical house. Droved cream sandstone with polished dressings. V-jointed rustication at ground; eaves cornice. Arched doorpiece with modern 2-leaf panelled door and radiating fanlight. Pair of piend-roofed tripartite dormers.

12-pane timber sash and case windows. Ashlar coped mutual skew to S (rebuilt brick stack); continuous roof to N (rendered stack); grey slates.

INTERIOR: enriched ceiling to Hall. Curving cantilevered stone stair set at right angles to axis; alternate decorative cast-iron banisters to 2nd floor, then stair extended to attic - no natural light; timber stair to garret. 4-storey to rear with full-height bow to S; coved rooms to attic storey at rear. Thoroughly modernised for office use in 1987.
