Description

Earlier to mid 19th century. Mirrored pair of 2-storey and attic, 3-bay town houses with basement, forming part of a terrace of 9. Cream sandstone, tooled ashlar with polished dressings, coursed rubble to rear. Band course above basement; ground floor windows architraved and corniced; dentilled eaves cornice and blocking course.

SW (FRONT) ELEVATION: elevations mirrored about centre with doorways to centre bays; pilastered doorpieces with Ionic capitals, cornice and blocking course bearing tablet; deep-set panelled doors (No 25 unusual panelling), original fanlights with radial astragals; single windows to 1st floor above. Single windows to remaining bays. Canted tripartite dormer to right.

NE (REAR) ELEVATION: 4-bay; regular fenestration with central wallhead stack.

Timber sash and case windows, 12-pane to No 23 and to rear, plate glass glazing to No 35. Black slate roof with lead flashings; 1 wallhead stack (see above), mutual party wall stacks to left and right.

INTERIOR: not seen 1993.

BOUNDARY WALL AND RAILINGS: low boundary wall to front, some original railings.
