67-69 Madeira Street, Leith, Edinburgh

63-65 Madeira Street is a pair of three-storey tenements built around 1840. They are constructed from cream sandstone ashlar and feature a base course, cill courses, a cornice, and a blocking course. Each floor has windows in all nine bays, with slightly irregular spacing that reflects the internal layout. The panelled doors, three of which have four-pane fanlights, are located in the outer bays as well as the third and seventh bays. These doors are framed by broad plain surrounds with chamfered reveals and cornices.

The end elevations are made of coursed rubble and include small central stair windows. The buildings have timber sash and case windows, mostly with plate glass, although some feature 12-lying panes. The roofs are covered with grey slates and have ashlar coped skews, with brick apex stacks, some of which are rendered.

In front of the buildings, there are low coursed stone walls topped with saddleback ashlar coping, along with modern wrought-iron railings and gates.
