Description

This is a round-headed stone slab milepost located on Biggar Road in Edinburgh, dating from around 1821. It stands approximately 70 centimeters tall and is made of sandstone, which is droved at the base and along the edges. The milepost is inscribed with the text indicating it is 5 miles from the General Post Office in Edinburgh, although some parts of the inscription are unclear, including the year of erection and the parish name.
