Description

Possibly Frank Simon, circa 1890. 2-bay villa; subdivided. Squared and snecked pink bull-faced sandstone with contrasting cream ashlar dressings. Overhanging eaves; cill course at 1st floor; long and short surrounds to windows.

S MORTONHALL ROAD elevation: 2-storey, 5-light canted window in bay to left; parapet forming balcony to glabled and bargeboard tripartite attic window. Single windows to both floors in bay to right.

E ENTRANCE elevation: roll-moulded doorway with hoodmould in bay to right; panelled door; plate glass fanlight; bipartite window at 1st floor above. Irregular distribution of windows in bay to left; corbelled chimneybreast. Single storey link bay between house and flat-roofed addition to outer right. Ssash and case windows with small-pane glazing pattern to upper sashes and plate glass in lower sashes. Grey-green slate roof with terracotta ridging; some original rainwater goods including hoppers and decorative fixings.

INTERIOR: not seen 1991.

BOUNDARY WALLS: low coped boundary walls to street; higher mutual walls.
