Description

Circa 1800. 2-storey 3-bay rectangular-plan house with chamfered S angle; ground floor altered as shops, with corniced shop fronts, with single storey D-plan commercial premises addition to SE. Coursed rubble, squared and snecked rubble at rear. Some polished ashlar dressings; long and short quoins.

NE (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: 3-bay shop front to right at ground, comprising 2-leaf 6-panel timber door, flanked by plate glass windows; 2-bay shop front to left, with dentilled cornice, comprising glazed door in bay to left, with plate glass rectangular fanlight, plate glass window. Single storey corniced addition at outer left, with part-blocking course, comprising 4-bay shop front, with recessed doorpiece, with glazed door, glazed returns and plate glass rectangular fanlight; cast-iron gates.

NW ELEVATION: adjoining terrace, see separate listing (Nos 25-29 North West Circus Place).

SE ELEVATION: gable comprising addition at ground with NE shop front; 1st floor with modern 6-panel timber door at left, with ashlar entrance platt and steps to street; window to right.

SW (REAR) ELEVATION: irregular fenestration at 1st floor; felted lean-to addition to left at ground.

Predominantly 12-pane timber sash and case windows. Graded grey slate roof, with roof light to right at principal elevation, and to right at rear; ashlar skew copes. Cast-iron rainwater goods. Rendered gablehead and wallhead stacks; coped, with circular cans.

INTERIORS: not seen, 1997.

RAILINGS: ashlar copes surmounted by cast-iron railings with urn finials.
