Description

Early 19th century. Single storey, 3-bay picturesque lodge. Squared, stugged and snecked sandstone with polished sandstone margins and dressings; quoin strips; base course.

W (MAIN) ELEVATION: 3 symmetrical bays now with out-of-character lean-to plywood and plastic porch/greenhouse at centre masking door (fanlight of door visible above). Flanking windows.

E ELEVATION: 3 windows symmetrically disposed; low, lean-to timber structure at outer right.

N & S ELEVATIONS: window placed at centre of each bowed end.

12-pane sash and case windows; air vent panes incorporated into window to N and S ends. Grey slate piended roof, lead flashing; overhanging eaves. Sandstone, corniced stack at centre ridge.

INTERIOR: originally 2 large rooms now subdivided and modernised; some simple cornices and ceiling rosettes remaining.

GATEPIERS: ashlar gatepiers with chamfered arrises and cushioned triangulated caps to right of lodge and originally the main entrance to Glenpark.
