1 Main Street, Dalmeny

2 Main Street in Dalmeny is a mid-19th century building with later additions. It consists of a single storey, mirrored pair of three-bay, L-plan cottages that form a U-plan. The exterior is made of stugged, squared, and snecked sandstone, with the rear harled. The building features stop-chamfered arrises and stone mullions.

On the north elevation, there are widely spaced bipartite windows in the center bays, flanked by doors that are flush-panelled and have a two-pane fanlight. These are located in the re-entrant angle formed with the advanced outer bays, each of which has a slender timber-mullioned bipartite window.

The east elevation has a chimney-gabled central bay with a window to the left and an extension to the outer left.

On the south elevation, there is a harled piend-roofed projection at the center with small windows and doors on the return by the re-entrant angles. The outer bay to the right has been extended with a harled gable addition featuring a segmental-arched window, while the outer bay to the left has a window centered in the gable.

The west elevation features a chimney-gabled central bay. The building has timber sash and case windows, a graded grey slate roof, and stone ridge and gablehead stacks with battered coping. Cast-iron rainwater goods are also present.

At the rear, there is a rubble garden wall with semicircular coping.
