Lodge, Laggary, Pier Road, Rhu

The building is a lodge located at Laggary on Pier Road in Rhu, designed in the mid-19th century by David Hamilton. It is a single-storey, asymmetrical Italianate structure made of sandstone ashlar. The exterior features chamfered reveals, a base course, quoins, and moulded cills supported by brackets, along with bracketted timber eaves and painted bracketted ashlar cills.

On the south elevation, the entrance is marked by an advanced block with a piend-roofed canted bay at the center. There is a pilastered porch entrance in the re-entrant angle to the right, with a blind pierced balustrade on the left side of the porch and later 12-pane fixed glazing above. The door on the return to the right is brought forward and consists of four panels with a plate glass letterbox fanlight. To the right of the porch, there is a bipartite window, and a recessed two-bay block to the right has symmetrically placed windows, including a bipartite window on the outer right.

On the west side, there is a single-storey lean-to addition that is harled with red sandstone dressings. The rear features a three-bay rendered block. The lodge has 8-pane sash and case windows, a grey slate piend roof, and platformed sections with tall harled and coped apex and wallhead stacks, along with a later rendered wallhead stack at the rear.
