Description
Castle House, located on Kirk Street in Dunoon, was built in 1822 with later additions to the rear. This two-storey main block features one-storey-and-attic wings and is designed in a 'Gothick' style. The exterior is made of stugged ashlar, which is painted, and has piended slate roofs. Notable architectural elements include crenellated bay windows, turrets, and parapets, along with weather mouldings around the windows. The porch, situated at the angle of the main block and the wing, boasts a plaster ribbed vault. There is also a conservatory on the south side and additional structures at the rear. The interior continues the 'Gothick' theme with plaster ribbed ceilings.
