Description
Holborn House is a building dating from around 1825. It is two storeys high, constructed of brick with a painted stucco front and features a hipped slate roof at the centre. The eaves have a wide plaster soffit, and the corners of the building are accentuated with rusticated quoins.
The façade includes two windows, which are hung sashes with a central bar. On the ground floor, there are two later wooden splay bays, and at the centre, there is a stone porch that showcases 'Gothick' details. This porch is supported by two columns, which may be inspired by a design by P Decker, featuring slender clustered shafts that hold up a moulded entablature with a pulvinated frieze. The door has two bolection moulded panels and a 'Gothick' fanlight above it. Additionally, above the porch, there is a decorative wall treatment featuring ogee tracery with a poppy head and crockets.
