Description

No. 93 Minster Moorgate is a building constructed around 1758 by M. Constable. It stands two storeys high with an attic, made of red brick and topped with a pantile roof. The building features a plinth and has two 18th-century sash windows on the first floor, while the rest of the wall is mostly blank but showcases good brickwork. The entrance consists of a heavy six-panel door adorned with a large lion mask knocker and a three-pane rectangular fanlight above it. The eaves are highlighted by oversailing brick courses, and there is an iron gutter along the top. The gable end has tumbled brickwork and includes a sash window.

On the Lairgate side, the building has three sash windows on both the first and ground floors, with hung sashes featuring glazing bars, except for one blank window. A moulded brick cornice adds detail to this facade. The roof has been modernized with flat tiles, and a spur stone is present at the corner.

The garden front to the south has an informal shape and window arrangement, featuring a triple window set in projecting brickwork with an ogee bracketed cornice. There are two gabled dormers with leaded lights in the pantile roof. Inside, there is a staircase with an open string and turned balusters on a simply moulded handrail. One room is wainscotted to a height of three feet and has a plaster cornice with dentil detailing.
