Description
Kilmartin Castle is a later 16th century Z-plan structure that stands three storeys tall. It is built of rubble and features a gabled design, although it is currently roofless. The castle has crow-stepped gables and iron-barred windows. The ground floor is vaulted, and there are round towers at diagonally opposite corners of the building. A semi-circular turnpike stair is located on the west side, which also serves as the entrance. The interior has been modernised, with a vaulted ground floor and a Great Hall situated on the first floor.
