Description
Moorepark Cottage is a villa built in 1864, featuring a single-storey service wing at the rear. The main structure is a two-storey, three-bay, gabled, rectangular-plan block. It has an ashlar front made of stugged, squared, and snecked pink sandstone, with ashlar margins and dressings, and a base course.
On the southwest (main) elevation, there is a centrally located door, which is now concealed by a timber gabled porch, leading to a half-glazed vestibule door. Above this, there is a small window. To the outer right, a corniced tripartite projecting window is present, and at the first floor, there is a scroll-flanked round-headed window, with the gable head breaking the eaves above. To the outer left, there is a full-height canted bay with a bracketed roof and a blind arrowslit in the gable head, which is attached to a later addition on the outer left that is listed separately.
The southeast elevation features two windows symmetrically placed at the first floor, with a single-storey block projecting at ground level, topped with a half-piend roof.
On the northeast (rear) elevation, a gable breaks over a stained glass window at the centre, with a round-headed window to the left and another window at ground level, both of which are barred. There is a long single-storey rubble service block with four-pane timber sash and case windows, a grey slate roof with red tile ridging, and coped ashlar ridge stacks with circular cans.
