Description

Edendene is a villa built after 1865, featuring two stories and a three-bay gabled rectangular plan. The exterior is constructed from whinstone and sandstone rubble, accented with polished sandstone margins and dressings, quoin strips, and a base course. It has projecting eaves and exposed rafters.

On the west elevation, there is an advanced gable on the outer right with a full-height canted window. To the left, there is a half-glazed door with a sandstone panel above it. A window is located at the ground outer left, and above it, a pointed-arch window is set into the gable, which breaks the eaves.

The east elevation is finished with painted harl and features an off-centre stair window to the right, along with windows at the ground outer right and left. There is a modern lean-to porch on the outer left.

The main elevation includes plate glass timber sash and case windows with four panes, while the rear has twelve-pane sash and case windows. The roof is covered with purple slate, equipped with lead flashings, corniced ridge stacks, and octagonal cans.

The interior was not seen in 1993. The boundary wall and gatepiers are made of whinstone and sandstone rubble with harl pointing and boulder coping. The ashlar piers have sunk round-headed panels, stop-chamfered arrises, and conical caps.
