Glen Rowan, Shore Road, Cove

Glen Rowan is a later 19th-century cottage ornée, built after 1865. It is a single-storey and attic structure with a rectangular plan and three bays. The building is constructed from whinstone, featuring sandstone margins and dressings, a base course, and stugged quoins. It has projecting eaves, trefoil-headed rafters, and exposed rafters on the gables.

On the southwest elevation, there is a round-headed door at the center, which is sheltered by a leaded demi-barrel canopy porch supported by slender colonnettes and paired brackets. The door is panelled and includes a fanlight. Flanking the door are bowed windows with slate roofs and eaves supported by a bracketed cornice. There are canted dormers that break the eaves on the outer right and left, featuring round-headed windows with gables above, and a small triangular dormer at the center with light quatrefoil bargeboarding.

The northeast (rear) elevation has a three-bay design with a helm-roofed jamb at the center. It features tripartite windows on both the ground and first floors, along with full-height canted bays on the outer right and left, and a piended roof that breaks the eaves.

The cottage has four-pane timber sash and case windows, a grey slate roof with lead flashings, and coped ridge stacks with octagonal cans.

The boundary wall is made of whinstone and has semicircular coping.
