Description
Knockdow House is a Georgian mansion dating from the 18th to 19th centuries. It is two storeys high with a garret, featuring a harled exterior and a slated roof. The house has gabled dormers and corner stones, with upper windows that have pediments and lower windows that are gabled.
In addition to the original structure, there were extensions made around 1815 and later. These consist of two long wings that flank the original mansion, with bow windows at the front that return to meet at the rear. The eastern wing includes a segmental pediment over the central bay, which is complemented by a rusticated porte-cochere and flanked by bay windows. The western wing features a high crenellated tower and a bay window.
