Description
The Chinese Lakes, including bridges, were created around 1930 and consist of a pair of man-made, crescent-shaped reservoir ponds that are lined with stone and designed in a picturesque style. Each pond features its own island. The southern pond is accompanied by a pair of ornamental pedestrian bridges with round arches, as well as a stone-lined area for boat mooring. The arches of the bridges are constructed from shuttered concrete and are finished with grey schist stone steps and rubble voussoirs.
