Description
Strachur House is a Georgian building that began construction around 1770. It stands three storeys high with a garret and features five bays. The exterior is made of coursed rubble, which has been newly harled. The roof is piended and slated, with a platform, and there are modern flat-roofed dormers. The central pavilion has a pediment and a Palladian window on the second storey above a modern projecting vestibule. The rear of the house is harled and includes a central bow-window with a crenellated parapet. The wings were added around 1815 and are two storeys high with a garret and two bays, featuring a cornice. Inside, there are well-proportioned rooms and a scale-and-platt stair.
