Description
5 Castle Street in Brechin is a simple late classical building dating from 1881. It features a front made of stugged ashlar with polished dressings and is two stories tall with an attic. The building has raised quoins and a band course at the first floor level. The central entrance consists of a panelled door with a fanlight and cornice, flanked by two bipartite windows. There are three windows on the first floor, with the outer pair being bipartite as well. The wallhead chimney gable includes a date panel. The roof is slated and has one modern box dormer. The flanks of the building are constructed of rubble. At the rear, there is a first-floor door with a timber porch and another modern box dormer.
