Description
The Coastguard Station and Boathouse in the Fishtown of Usan dates from around 1900. It is a gabled, rectangular-plan building designed as a Life-Saving Apparatus House. The structure is made of squared and snecked sandstone, featuring some shallow, bull-faced dressings. On the northeast gable, there is a depressed arch garage door with two-leaf boarded doors. The long elevations have segmental-headed windows that are timber small-pane bipartite. The building is topped with timber bargeboards and has a blue slate roof.
