Description
East Mills, located on East Mill Road in Brechin, is a building dating from 1837. It is constructed of rubble with ashlar dressings and features a two-storey and attic flat, designed in a three-aisle rectangular plan. The structure includes iron columns and fireproof jack-arch construction. A notable feature is the three-storey staircase tower, which is topped by a clock and bellcote, both of which are dated. The staircase has a hollow newel designed to accommodate the weights of the clock. The roof is slated. While internal stanchions remain, the workings are no longer present.
