Description
Brechin Bridge features two arches, with the south arch designed in a Gothic style, likely dating from the early 13th century. The east face of this arch has a corbelled parapet. The bridge was widened on the west side in 1786 or shortly thereafter, and the north arch was rebuilt in a segmental form. It was engineered by Alexander Stevens and is constructed from rubble. Notable architectural elements include large cutwaters and semi-octagonal buttresses.
