Description

Commenced 1864, extended 1871. Coursers with margins and

raised quoins at angles. 4-storey, 18-bay front. Ground floor

5 round headed doors in architraves with key blocks and

central tall door (recently enlarged) with band of

lettering, plaque and clock over. Arched first floor windows

with string course at second. Italianate tower at Southesk

Street end with tall round-headed openings in Doric angle

pilasters at top stage, flagpole and platformed roof with

metal brattishing. West elevation 4-bay inclusive of tower.

Piended slated roof over bracketed cornice. 13-bay single

storey range to Southesk Street with north light valley

roofs. Rusticated base courses, diminishing as ground

rises to north, architraved windows one to each bay.

Single-storey weaving sheds and octagonal section brick

chimney to rear.
