Description

The West Tower of Glamis Castle is possibly from the 14th or 15th century and was raised and crenellated, likely in the late 18th century. It is a circular structure made of rubble, standing approximately 14 feet high and without a roof. The tower features a crenellated parapet and has a row of oval openings with ashlar margins near the top. There is a doorway on the northeast side with chamfered arrises and possibly evidence of a relieving arch, as well as a blinded window to the east.
