Description
The Parish Church of Slains, located in Kirkton of Slains, Collieston, was built in 1806. It features a plain rectangular shape with round arches and a birdcage bell-cote at the west gable, topped with a ball finial at the east. There are four windows on the south side and two windows in the center on the north side. The exterior is harled with margins. A later porch and session-house were added to the northwest. The church underwent renovations in 1882, and the interior was rearranged in 1927, replacing the original horseshoe gallery with an angle gallery. One of the south windows was altered for stained glass. The bell dates from the 17th or 18th century.
