Description
The building is a circular dovecot, now roofless, located at Slains House in Kirkton of Slains, Collieston, and it dates from perhaps the mid-18th century. The dovecot features square wall recesses and internal ledges, but it does not have a rat course. The surrounding area wall has a quadrant angle with two square openings positioned low down, and there is a ramped duck-walk leading to a stream. Other buildings in the vicinity are from the early 19th century, including a later gig-house, all of which are single-storey. The square gate piers, which have moulded tops, are likely from 1876 and attributed to Wm. Smith.
