Description

Dated 1882. Tall 2-storey and attic, 3-bay, terraced shop with dwelling above, in earlier 19th century traditional manner, on prominent corner site. Ashlar; squared and snecked rubble to side with some Aberdeen bond. Base, 1st floor cill and eaves courses extending to Margaret Street elevation.

E (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: Symmetrical. Centre door shop at ground with dentilled and corniced bracketed fascia, 3 windows to 1st floor and 2 polygonal-roofed canted dormer windows over outer bays.

N (MARGARET STREET) ELEVATION: broad gabled elevation with timber door and deep plate glass fanlight to right at ground, 2 shop windows to left under fascia and 2 further windows to 1st floor, that to right etched with decorative coloured margins; blind bracketed segmental headed niche dated '1882' in gablehead.

4-pane glazing pattern in timber sash and case windows above ground; 6-pane margined window. Grey slates. Coped ashlar stacks with full complement of polygonal cans and ashlar-coped skews with moulded skewputts.
