Description
47 Cameron Street in Stonehaven is an earlier 19th-century building consisting of a pair of two-storey and attic houses located in the town's new area. The structure is made of squared and coursed rubble, with less well-cut rubble and roughly squared quoins on the north side, while the south side is harled.
On the north elevation, which is the principal front, there are two well-crafted panelled timber doors at the center of the ground floor. The left door features a two-pane fanlight, while the right door has a plate glass fanlight. There are later bipartite windows in the flanking bays, and four single windows on the first floor.
The south elevation, facing Carron Terrace, has two stair windows grouped toward the center, along with two additional windows in the outer bays on the first floor. These are situated below polygonal-roofed canted dormer windows, which are flanked by two small rooflights.
The windows throughout feature various glazing patterns, including 4-pane, 12-pane, and plate glass in timber sash and case designs. However, there are uPVC and pivoting replacements on the first floor to the right and in the dormers, and top-opening windows on the ground floor to the left on the north side. The roof is covered with grey slates, and there are coped harled stacks, with the stack on the mutual west gable being particularly prominent, complete with thackstanes and cans. The east side features an ashlar-coped skew.
